Pirates push past Rays, 12-5

With the wind blowing swiftly out to center field, home runs were sure to play a factor in Thursday night’s match up between the Rays and the Pirates.

Bristol held a two-run lead heading into the third inning when Chase Lambert extended it. He smashed a three-run blast to left field, giving the Pirates a 5-0 lead. Princeton would respond in the bottom half of the inning with a Jordan Qsar RBI single.

But, Bristol tallied five home runs on the night, including a Mason Martin grand slam, to quickly put this game out of reach. The Pirates would go on to win 12-5.

The two teams will be back at it tomorrow at 7:00 p.m.
