The company Kimberly-Clark has announced a voluntary product recall of its U by Kotex “Sleek” Tampons, Regular Absorbency.
The company says it has received reports from consumers that the product became unraveled or came apart upon removal, “and in some cases causing users to seek medical attention to remove tampon pieces left in the body.”
Localized vaginal injury, vaginal irritation and infections were also reported, as well as other symptoms.
The tampons were sold broadly across the U.S. and Canada. They were manufactured prior to October 16, 2018.
