(Charleston) A bill originating in the West Virginia Senate is seeking to make daylight savings time the official time of West Virginia.
Senate Bill 486 would do away with standard time making daylight savings time the norm in the state year round. One of the bill’s sponsors says daylight savings time is outdated. Senator Ron Stollings (D – Boone) sponsors bill. He said, “I think it’d just be more convenient for everybody. You just get used to a time, and it just gives you a little bit more time in the wintertime.”
Right now the bill is with the Senate Judiciary committee.
