GLENWOOD, WV (WVVA) A Princeton man is facing a felony charge for allegedly bringing a loaded gun to a Mercer County school.

Administrators at Glenwood School (K-8) contacted authorities after a substitute teacher told a teacher’s aide that he had a gun in his briefcase.

Detective M.S. Horn with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office asked the substitute teacher, identified as 73-year-old William H. Armstrong, if he could search the briefcase. Det. Horn discovered a loaded handgun with a round in the chamber. The hammer was pulled back and the safety was engaged.
