Chilly for now, much warmer later this week

(WVVA) Dry and chilly conditions are expected Monday night with increasing clouds through Tuesday morning. An area of low pressure will develop off the North and South Carolina coast Tuesday and could cause a few snow and rain showers, especially across southwest Virginia and for areas south and east of us. Temperatures will only climb into the 40s with some 50s possible for areas west of I-77. Clouds will clear Tuesday night we’ll see mostly sunny skies Wednesday with highs near 60 degrees.

Thursday will be dry with a few showers approaching from the west late in the day. Highs will be in the upper 60s. Rain will overspread the area Thursday night with showers around Friday and Friday night. Drier weather will move in for most of Saturday and Sunday, with rain showers returning Monday. Temperatures will be mild with highs in the 60s and lower 70s with lows in the 40s and 50s.
