(WVVA) An area of low pressure will move toward our area on Friday. Clouds will increase ahead of this system Thursday night with rain developing, mainly after midnight. Rain is likely on Friday with mostly cloudy skies. Rain will become more scattered in the afternoon and evening hours with highs in the 50s, with lower 60s possible for western Tazewell, McDowell and Wyoming counties. Drier weather is expected Saturday with a slight chance of an isolated shower with highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s.
We’ll see a better chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms on Sunday. It will not be a washout all day and everyone may not see showers due to the scattered nature of development. Monday will likely be the most active day with rain showers. A few lingering showers are possible Tuesday, with drying conditions expected for the middle part of next week.
