(WVVA) High pressure will move to our east tonight, but will continue to provide dry weather conditions through Thursday. Partly cloudy skies are expected tonight with lows falling into the 40s. Mostly sunny skies are in store for Thursday with a south to southeast breeze developing. Highs will mostly be in the 70s, with a few spots in western McDowell, Wyoming, Buchanan and western Tazewell counties climbing into the upper 70s.
Rain chances increase Thursday night with rain showers and thunderstorms around on Friday. A few strong thunderstorms are possible along with heavy rain. A cold front will sink south of our area heading into the weekend and will stall. Rain showers are looking more likely now for Saturday. The forecast is rather wet heading into next week as well. Sunday will be a wet day with scattered showers moving back into the area. Flooding could become a concern, so stay tuned for later updates.
