New computer repair business staffs teens while teaching business skills

(Lewisburg) Teens have running a new computer repair business in Lewisburg.

A new business called Tech Express will fix your computers. And it employs teens. Tech Express was started by High Rocks- a non-profit that aims to educate, empower and inspire young people in West Virginia. In the case of Tech Express, High Rocks is providing local young people with a valuable skill while earning money.

High Rocks arranged Sean as a mentor who does training and provides structure. Sean said, “As far as aptitude I am confident that they have the skills to get it done and I am the safety if they get stuck.”

The purpose behind the new tech business is to foster an entrepreneurial spirit in the teens.

Devin Preston works at High Rocks. He explained, “One of the things that we think is really important is teaching young people how to run a business how to open a business. For themselves so they can really see how to find a sustainable living in West Virginia.”
