FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WVVA) A welfare check led to the arrest of five people in Scarbro.
According to Sheriff Mike Fridley, when deputies arrived at the home on Cafego Road they found evidence of “crimes being committed.”
Deputies obtained two search warrants and discovered counterfeit money and counterfeit narcotics.
Crystal Lilly and Elgie Adkins of Mount Hope, Paul Pennington and William Toney of Scarbro, and Candice Peak of Fayetteville were each charged with Possession of Counterfeit Currency, Possession of Controlled Substances, Possession of Counterfeit Controlled Substances and Conspiracy.
All five individuals were arraigned, and bond was set at $25,000 each. They were then transported to Southern Regional Jail.
