BECKLEy, W.Va. (WVVA) Middle and high school students are getting a crash course in crime scene analysis at WVU Tech this week.
The kids are taking part in the university’s Forensic Investigation Summer Camp.
Campers kicked off the week Monday by exploring Biometrics and learning about fingerprints. On Tuesday, they’ll examine fractures and reconstruct crime scenes. Later in the week, the kids will explore forensic pathology and investigative intelligence.
“I think it’s the hands on nature of forensics that students like to participate in. Forensics combines math, biology, and all the subjects that students love into one,” said Roger Jeffries, the camp’s director.
Representatives from the Beckley Police Department and the FBI will teach courses during the camp.
