With a win on Sunday night, Bluefield could secure a number of things: a fourth-straight win, a sweep of the Burlington Royals and a .500 record heading into July.
Through four innings, the Jays had grabbed a 4-1 advantage which grew in the fifth. PK Morris and Leonardo Jimenez both drove in runs, helping the home team to a 7-1 lead.
Burle Dixon doubled home Mikey Filia to cut the lead to 7-2, but Bluefield would add one more to win, 8-2.
Jared DiCesare earned the win on the mound, allowing just one run and striking out four in four innings of action.
The Blue Jays travel to face the Danville Braves on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
