Perhaps a rainy day was what the Bluefield Blue Jays needed to get back on track.
On the heels of a four-game losing streak — two of which were to the rival Princeton Rays — the Bluefield Blue Jays were able to re-group after inclement weather postponed their scheduled Mercer County clash on Monday.
The one-day break proved beneficial for the Blue Jays, as they took back control of their season with a double-header sweep over the Rays on Tuesday.
With five games to go in the 2019 Mercer Cup series, Bluefield and Princeton are deadlocked with 3 wins a piece. Whichever team defeats the other six times will win the trophy and the bragging rights that come with it.
