Four named to Outland, Bronko Nagursky Award Watch Lists

The watch lists for the 2019 Outland Trophy and Bronko Nagursky Award have been released. Four local Division I athletes received a preseason nod on Tuesday.

West Virginia’s Colton McKivitz and Josh Sills landed on the Outland Trophy watch list. The honor is given annually to the nation’s top lineman.

McKivitz has already been named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team, while Sills earned Second Team conference honors after his 2018 campaign. Marshall center Levi Brown is also on the list. The rising senior has been tabbed by two different outlets as a preseason All-Conference USA performer.

Virginia Tech’s Rayshard Ashby is the lone local representative named to the Bronko Nagursky Award watch list, which is reserved for the country’s top overall defensive player. As a true sophomore, Ashby accumulated 105 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles.
