With the threat of scattered storms surrounding Mercer County, both the Bluefield Blue Jays and the Princeton Rays were able to fit in games on Wednesday without any weather interruptions.
The afternoon of Appalachian League baseball started at Bowen Field as the Blue Jays took on the Kingsport Mets.
Bluefield was able to come away with a 7-5 victory to go up 2-0 in their three-game series with Kingsport.
In Princeton, the Rays were able to get revenge after Tuesday night’s 10-0 loss to the Johnson City Cardinals. Princeton bounced back and took down Johnson City 6-5 to even that three-game series at 1-1.
