UPDATE: Jury returns guilty verdict, Christmas Day murder

MERCER COUNTY, W.Va. (WVVA) A jury has found Roger Lee Lemons guilty of second-degree murder and guilty of violating a protection order.

Lemons was found not guilty on the strangulation charge.

On Christmas Day, 2017, the body of a woman name Angela Seal was discovered at her home off Mercer Street in Princeton.

Lemons has been remanded to Southern Regional Jail until his sentencing on October 4 and could be facing up 41 years in prison.



08/06/19 The trial has started for a 2017 Christmas Day Murder in Judge William J. Sadlers’ courtroom.

Roger Lee Lemons is charged with first-degree murder, strangulation and violation of a protection order.

The charges are in connection with the death of a woman name Angela Seal, whose body was discovered at her home off Mercer Street.

Prosecutors began opening arguments this afternoon in front of Judge William Sadler.

Lemons’ trial is expected to continue Wednesday morning around 9:30 a.m.
