Better chance of showers/storms late week, a cool-down to follow

We may see a few isolated showers/storms this evening (mainly south of HWY 460), but most will just stay warm, muggy and foggy (in spots) overnight with lows in the 60s. A cold front approaching the area tomorrow will bring a better chance for wider spread showers and thunderstorms Thursday and Friday. We could see some rain by sunrise tomorrow morning, but the best chance for showers/storms will be during the afternoon and evening. A few isolated showers/t-storms tomorrow could become strong to severe, with gusty winds, hail, and torrential rain possible. With the drier ground in many areas, rainwater may have trouble soaking into the hard ground at first…so localized flooding issues can’t be ruled out through the end of the work week due to runoff. Overall though, the rain should be beneficial for the region.

We’ll start to dry out as the front sags to our south by this weekend. A few isolated showers could linger into Saturday, but by Sunday, we should be cooler and LESS HUMID with highs in the 70s! We then look pretty quiet to start next week as well. Stay tuned!
