Two separate overnight shooting incidents in Bluefield possibly linked to gang activity

Bluefield, W.Va. (WVVA) – Two shootings that occurred in the overnight hours in the City of Bluefield are possibly linked and gang related.

The first shooting took place in the early morning hours Friday on Union St.

The second shooting happened around 3 a.m. Monday morning on Marellan Ave. according to Patrolman D.A. Williams. However, credible eyewitnesses told WVVA it happened Sunday.

Each shooting is being treated as possible drive-by shootings.

Bluefield City Police Department Detective K.L. Adams and Patrolman D.A. Williams confirmed the shootings are under investigation.

No injuries have been reported.
