No. 16 Bethel dominates Bluefield College in home opener

BLUEFIELD (WVVA) — The Rams returned home on Saturday to host nationally-Ranked Bethel in the Coal Bucket.

Despite hanging tough early, Bluefield College turned the ball over six times en route to a 49-24 defeat.

“I’m not sure how many [turnovers] we had, but we had several,” said head coach Dewey Lusk. “I think there in the second half for a while we turned it over every series until about halfway through the fourth quarter. And you can’t do that against any team, much less a quality team like Bethel.

Wildcats quarterback Christian Arrambide went 13-of-22 for 221 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also rushed for two more scores in the second half.

Lowell Patron was a bright spot for the Rams offense, snagging eight ball for 166 yards and two touchdowns.

Lusk and company will hope to clean things up this week before traveling to Pikeville next Saturday for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
