CITY OF BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) State Farm presented the Bluefield Fire Department a special-life saving gift, a fire prevention kit during the Bluefield City Board meeting.
Agent Brandon Disney opened up a special ‘fire safety’ banner inside of the kit, thanking Chief Rick Cary for his departments’ commitment to teaching kids safety tips.
“I probably deal with 3-4 losses due to fire every year,” said State Farm Agent Brandon Disney. “People affected by fire, I see about 15-20 a year but that’s just in my agency.”
The kit contains educational fire-prevention materials for homeowners and children, to help assist the fire department during National Fire Prevention week, which starts the second week of October.
