Concord stressing redzone conversion against Frostburg State

ATHENS, W.Va (WVVA) — Mountain Lion football fans will get their first look at the 2019 squad on Saturday. Paul Price and company will be home for the first time to host Frostburg State.

The Bobcats are making the jump to Division II after a 10-1 finish in Division III a year ago. They allowed 517 yards of total offense to West Virginia State in their season opener, but held strong near the goal line. It’s an area that CU will stress this week in practice.

“[West Virginia State] got stymied and had to move on to Plan B and C, and we’re going to practice Plan B and C from the get-go,” said Price. “We’ll be ready to throw some things at them, which will give us a legitimate shot at being able to be productive in the redzone.”

Concord was a perfect 1-for-1 in the redzone against a tough Notre Dame College defense.

Kickoff against the Bobcats comes at 12 p.m. on Saturday and will be televised on WVVA.
