Another dry and toasty day; much needed rain arrives to end the work week

Starting off the morning with temperatures in the 60s and lower 70s. Pretty fair and mild conditions are over us. We will continue with a mostly dry day again and mostly sunny skies. A few areas have a potential to see a stray shower or two in the later afternoon and into the evening. Most of the showers look confined to our east around central VA and the Blue Ridge, dodging our area. Temperatures continue to be warmer than average. Today, we will be in the middle-upper 80s and lower 90s.

A back door cold front will roll on through tomorrow allowing temperatures to drop and a few more showers/storms to make an appearance. Not everyone will witness the rain tomorrow, but more areas will be exposed to it. Highs will be in the lower 80s. We do continue to hold onto the humidity even throughout the weekend. A second cold front will blow in on Saturday giving us another opportunity to catch that much-needed rain. On Saturday, our temperatures will dip a bit cooler as the air behind the backdoor cold front and the secondary cold front will allow temperatures to be into the upper 70s and lower-mid 80s. We will still be considered warmer than average into the weekend and into the early portions of next week.
