BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA) A man accused of possessing hundreds of pictures of pre-teen girls depicted in a sexual manner appears in court.
In July, Dustin Williams, 45, pleaded guilty to Possessing Material Depicting Minors Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct — a charge that carries a 2-10 year prison sentence.
According to investigators, the girls depicted in the pictures ranged from the ages of six to early teens.
An attorney for Williams argued for probation on Monday, telling the court his client had no criminal record prior to this arrest, and referenced the lack of studies on the chances that defendants like Williams will go on to commit acts in person.
Instead of rendering a decision, Judge Darl Poling deferred sentencing to allow Williams to participate in a 60-day diagnostic and classification study.
