Appalachian League teams in jeopardy of being cut after 2020 season

(WVVA) The future of the Appalachian League is unclear, as a proposal by Major League Baseball could dismantle the league. According to multiple reports by Baseball America and the New York Times, 42 minor league baseball teams could be cut following the 2020 season.

Nine of the 10 Appy League teams are on that list, including Bluefield Blue Jays and the Princeton Rays. West Virginia Power, located in Charleston, is also on that list.

WVVA Sports will continue to follow this developing story and provide an update when new information becomes available.
