Appalachian Coal Town Christmas first weekend a success

BECKLEY, W. Va. (WVVA) – The weather didn’t stop folks from enjoying the the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine and the Youth Museums annual “Appalachian Coal Town Christmas.”

The Exhibition Coal Mine and the Youth Museum have been celebrating Christmas in this special way for almost 20 years. The museum was full of activities for families to enjoy including, horse and wagon rides, a marshmallow roast, caroling, special underground tours, special planetarium presentations and a Christmas craft.

“Woke up this morning and decided it was a good day to do something despite the weather we just had a good time coming out here. We got to go through the museum and stuff like that, so it’s a good time for family,” Visitor, Chris Watkins said.

If you didn’t get a chance to stop by the Appalachian Coal Town Christmas” you will have another opportunity to attend next weekend Friday, December 6th from 5 to 9 pm and on Saturday, December 7th from 5 until 9 pm.
