Vietnam Vets sell Christmas trees for 15th year

PRINCETON (WVVA) — It’s the first day of December, so it’s time to start decorating for the holidays!

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 628 is selling trees for its 15th year; and the trees are local, coming from a farm in Hinton.

The money raised from Christmas tree sales will go to local charities and Chapter 628 — and vets say the best part is giving back to the community.

“We like to keep the money here and give it back to the public,” Veteran Richard Sively says, “We like to see people coming around and helping us, and we help them.”

Chapter 628 has donated $2,000 to the Bluefield Union Mission, along with a couple hundred cans of food.

The tree stand is located off Athens Road in Princeton — beside Crossroads Grants.
