WHEELING, W.Va (WVVA) In their third trip in three years, the Bluefield Beavers took the field in Wheeling for the Class AA State Championship. After the first quarter ended with zeros on the board, Bridgeport scored first in the second quarter on a Carson Winkie touchdown.

But that wouldn't stop Bluefield. Quarterback Carson Deeb would find Brandon Wylie for a touchdown pass to even things up at seven at the half. Early in the third quarter, Deeb connected with Wylie once more to jump ahead of the Indians, 14-7.

In the third quarter, Winkie once again, crossed the goal line for another touchdown. But a missed extra point, kept Bluefield in the lead, 14-13.

After Bluefield forced a 3 & 10 on Bridgeport, quarterback Devin Vandergrift kept the ball and gained a first down. That play would lead to another Winkie touchdown, putting the Indians ahead 21-14 after a two point conversion.

On Bluefield's last drive down field, Deeb was picked off, sealing a 21-14 victory for Bridgeport.
