Teen shot in Greenbrier County

GREENBRIER COUNTY, W.Va. (WVVA) - On Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at approximately 12:10 am, members of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office and WV State Police responded to a report of a shooting at a residence near Maxwelton.

Upon arrival of officers on scene it was learned that a teenager had received a single gunshot wound.

Corporal T. C. Webber of the Sheriff’s Office administered emergency first aid until arrival of EMS personnel.

The victim was subsequently flown to a medical facility out of state where they are listed in stable condition.

The gunshots originated on the exterior of the home and were fired into the residence.

The initial investigation indicates a specific targeted act, however, the perpetrators, identified as two males in a dark colored vehicle, incorrectly identified their target residence and were at the wrong location.

The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Team processed the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Corporal T. C. Webber and Deputy D. L. Vaught, of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, are the investigating officers.
