Crusaders, Warriors cruise to victory in MLK Classic

PROSPERITY, W.Va. (WVVA) - On Monday, Greater Beckley Christian School held its second-annual MLK Jr. Classic. Team from across the region traveled to Raleigh County for an exciting day of hoops.

The Crusaders played Webster County in the evening matchup. It was all Greater Beckley early and often.

An 18-0 start to the contest finished in a 109-70 rout. Five Crusaders scored in double figures, while Isaiah Hairston earned the game's MVP, scoring 26 points and snatching five rebounds.

In the nightcap, Greenbrier and Wyoming East battled on the same court.

The Warriors jumped out to an 11-2 lead, but had just a 37-31 advantage after three quarters of play.

Wyoming East would hang on to win it, 54-49. McQuade Canada was named MVP for his 19-point performance.

In the early games, Mercer Christian took care of Richwood easily, 99-67. Trinity Christian locked down Oak Hill for a 20-point victory, 69-49.
