MERCER COUNTY, W.Va.(WVVA)- The 'pay it forward' movement is continuing to spread in Mercer County, this time with a well known musician from Princeton.
After witnessing numerous acts of kindness inside of Appalachian Coffee House, 20-year-old Je'Dah Palmer made a decision to pay it forward by sponsoring a teen with her prom dress.
Palmer is also paying for the teens nails, hair and makeup.
"I'm going to try and make her night special," said Palmer. "I've been blessed with a lot of things and I want to bless someone else."
Palmer is requesting submissions from teens interested in wearing the prom dress through messenger on her Facebook Page. She expects to announce the winner a week before Valentine's Day.
After sharing the news on Facebook, numerous others are jumping on board with Palmer, also sponsoring a teen with a prom dress, making Palmer's heart smile.
"I cried at work for like 20 minutes, I didn't expect that," said Palmer. "I think it's awesome how they're willing to help make someone else's day special. I want others to pay it forward as well, even if it's just paying for someone's coffee. It will make their day."
Palmer's prom dress is a size 2. However, Palmer can connect teens with one of the ladies paying it forward for additional dress sizes.
Palmer says her prom dress submissions will go into a bucket and she'll randomly draw a name to pick the winner.
