BECKLEY, W.Va (WVVA) Five members of Woodrow Wilson's Girls basketball team are suspended for two games. This decision from the WVSSAC comes after Tuesday night's altercation in the fourth quarter of their game at Greenbrier East.

According to Rockey Powell, Woodrow Wilson Principal, its WVSSAC policy (3.7.c, 3.7.g) that players who leave the bench area, are to be suspended ten percent of the season.

Woodrow Wilson assistant coach Gene Nabors has not be suspended for his role in the altercation. Powell stressed, the altercation in question was only verbal and not physical. However, the West Virginia State Police is still conducting their investigation into the incident.

Administrators from both schools have decided the contest from Tuesday night will not be completed. With sectional playoff seeding scheduled to be released on Friday, the two teams could meet again.

"Our administration have talked along with our superintendent and we're going to leave that open," says Powell. "We have not talked to other teams about those concessions but that will be a conversation."

The WVSSAC is also investigating the incident and not yet released their findings.
