BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) - The Beavers honored nine of their own on senior night in the Brushfork Armory Friday.
Each senior wore a different T-shirt honoring 'Lil Tony Webster, who would have been a senior this spring.
The Princeton Tigers were visiting, and both squads had each other sprinting up and down the court from the start. But, the Beavers opened up a 14-3 lead to begin the game.
The Tigers cut the deficit to six points multiple times in the first half, but the Beavers led 50-38 at the break.
Bluefield ran away with it in the second half, cruising to a 97-65 win.
Braeden Crews scored a game-high 26 points for the Beavers. Sean Martin and Tyrese Hairston had at least 20 as well. Jon Wellman led Princeton with 15 points.
After the game, Crews spoke about just how much senior night meant to this group.
"Yes sir, wanted to make sure that Tony was with us tonight," he said. "He was part of our senior class and I'm sure he would have been playing with us for our last year. We just really wanted to do it all for him."
Bluefield has a quick turnaround against Fairmont Senior on Saturday afternoon. Princeton hosts Greenbrier East on Monday.
