Another meeting was held Saturday night for the Tazewell County Civil Defense Committee. The meeting took place at the Farmers Livestock Market.
Forming constitutional subcommittees was the goal. This is the first time the Tazewell County Civil Defense Committee has met on a weekend to continue their efforts in creating an organized group.
"Each of these represented subcommittees are creating a training framework within their subcommittee. That training will consists of individuals with key competencies who are in a position to train members and others on a subcommittee," Speaker, Flux Neo explained.
Neo said that he wanted the community to see the great work that the committee is trying to establish.
"Those in our community would know exactly what we're doing because they've been to our training and are interacting with us and see how professional we are and the work we're trying to do not only in our organization but how we want to resource ourselves to the community at large," Neo added.
There are currently more than 50 members of the Tazewell County Civil Defense Committee, more joined during this meeting.
The committee's organizational structure is to follow the guidelines under intelligence, tactics, communications, preparedness, medical, and logistics.
Other things discussed included parental consent forms for juvenile membership and community operations.
