Raleigh County deal to takeover Little Beaver State Park dies in Senate

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WVVA) A resolution to allow for Raleigh County to take over state control of Little Beaver State Park will not be brought to the Senate floor for a vote this session.

Sen. Rollan Roberts, (R) Raleigh County, confirmed to WVVA News on Wednesday that the bill was introduced too late in the session and died in committee over a political obstacle.

He said he plans to re-introduce the legislation again in the 2021 session.

The legislation was already facing an uphill fight in the House of Delegates, where some Republican lawmakers expressed concerns from constituents over the transfer.
