Rene Steele can often be found at the Labor of Love Mission in Tazewell, VA.
"My husband says 24 hours a day. If you're looking for me you can probably find me here," said Steele.
"I pretty much live out of the offices. It's a big task but I love it. I love doing it."
For several years the non-profit has served families in Tazewell County.
From various food, beverages, hygiene, clothes, shoes and bedding to stay warm Steele said the need for the mission has grown.
Steele says this effort could not be done alone in fact the Board of Supervisors helped find a location to hold the influx of items.
"We were working out of our home. We have four children and it just got too big really fast," said Steele.
"We reached out to the Board of Supervisors thinking they had a building we could operate out of"
She said she remembers the first year helping one family and today she is helping 500 and knowing that she is able to give a hand up fills her pride.
