Holding onto chances for rain on Wednesday; drier and warmer air funnels in for Thursday

Showers continue throughout the morning hours, but showers will become more scattered into the evening. High pressure will build in allowing drier air to come into place for the overnight hours.

Temperatures for this morning are in the 40s and the 50s. Few areas in Pocahontas county and places such as Burke's Garden could see temperatures dip into the upper 30s. High temperatures will be scattered around the same way as this morning. Some areas will be stuck in the 40s (mainly our northern counties) while the majority will hit in the lower to middle 50s. Winds will gradually decrease, but will change direction and come out of the northwest. This will allow lows tonight to be around average in the mid-upper 30s for most.

High pressure dominates for Thursday allowing mostly sunny skies and calm conditions. Highs will push into the upper 60s and lower 70s. There is a slight chance for a stray shower for our northern counties Thursday night.

Rain builds back in on Friday in the form of scattered showers. Chances for rain stick around during the weekend. Highs on Friday and Saturday will be in the 70s for most. Temperatures dip into the upper 50s and 60s for Sunday.

A cooler week is on tap for next week with rain chances still hanging around.
