CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Gov. Jim Justice will conduct a live, statewide address this afternoon, March 26, 2020, at approx. 1 p.m. to provide West Virginians an update on COVID-19 preparedness and response efforts.
The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) confirmed 13 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. This brings the state total to 52.
Of the 13 new cases, Raleigh County confirmed its first positive case.
As of March 25, 1,083 residents have been tested for COVID-19, with 52 positive, 1,031 negative and 19 tests pending (at state lab).
Testing in the state has increased in recent days, though a lack of tests remains a problem nationwide among people who've been turned away or had to navigate onerous bureaucracies while suffering symptoms.
