BLUEFIELD, W.Va (WVVA) - The non-profit SaverLife is holding a writing contest for residents of Southern West Virginia and Southwest Virginia. The first prize winner will receive $5,000. Two second place winners will receive $2,500 each.
The question contestants need to answer is 'what does saving mean to you?' To enter the contest, go to this website, and sign up for SaverLife or log in to your existing account.
Once the account is created, contestants can upload a photo and tell SaverLife what motivates them to save and what saving means to them and their family in 200 to 1,000 characters.
The deadline to submit an entry is April 19, 2020. Winners will be announced on or around May 15, 2020.
Participants must be at least 18 years of age or older as of January 29, 2020 to be eligible to participate or win.
Participants must sign up for SaverLife here or otherwise verify proof of residence in greater Bluefield, West Virginia.
Eligible West Virginia counties include: McDowell, Mercer, Summers, Wyoming, Raleigh, Fayette, Nicholas, Monroe, and Greenbrier. Eligible Virginia counties include: Tazewell, Buchanan, Bland, Wythe, Smyth, Pulaski, Giles, Craig, Alleghany, Roanoke, Montgomery, Dickenson, Russell, and Washington. Potential winners may be required to provide proof of residence.
