Greenbrier man charged with DUI causing death

(W.Va.) WVVA - A Greenbrier County attorney, 53-year-old Edwin L. Morgan Jr., was arrested and charged with with DUI causing death after a fatal traffic accident Friday night. The deceased was Morgan's passenger, Amelia Braden of Kansas City, Kansas.

An investigation by Greenbrier County Sheriff deputies revealed Morgan traveling was northbound on US Route 219 in his Dodge pick-up truck when his vehicle exited the roadway and went over the guardrail on the east side of the road. Braden was ejected from the pickup truck and died as a result of her injuries.

Dispatch said the call came in a bit after 10 p.m.

Morgan was taken to Southern Regional Jail and was released on bond.

Lieutenant G. R. Workman of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
