CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WVVA) – In this new style of campaigning in small groups and staying six-feet apart, Democrat Gubernatorial Candidate, Dr. Ron Stollings, is mixing a little old-style politics with new technology.
Dr. Stollings will be campaigning in the Beckley-Oak Hill-Fayetteville-Montgomery areas on Saturday, May 9 in a classic Trailways bus adorned with signs promoting his candidacy for governor.
His “whistle stop” tour will include Facebook Live audiences along the way. Dr. Stollings will stop at six locations between Marmet and Beckley, including: Chesapeake, Montgomery, Oak Hill Fayetteville and end in Beckley.
At each stop, Stollings will deliver a Facebook Live speech, addressing issues important to voters in each area.
“These are unprecedented times,” said Stollings, a physician and state senator from Madison.
“And they call for unprecedented ways to reach out to voters.”
“We’ve been doing Facebook Live events during the past two months, talking to people about the Coronavirus and other important issues facing the state, but the bus allows us to go into communities throughout the state and tell voters we care about their issues.” said Dr. Stollings.
