NFL teams show interest in Greenbrier training facilities

White Sulphur Springs (WVVA) - The Greenbrier resort is still closed with no opening date set, yet its training facilities may be in demand.

Cam Huffman, Director of Public Relations at The Greenbrier confirmed to WVVA the hotel's "state-of-the-art" football training facility, The Greenbrier Sports Performance Center, has been contacted by several NFL teams interested to use the facility as a back-up plan for training camps.

Nothing is confirmed yet, but if it does work out these will not be the first NFL teams to play at the facility. The Saints and the Houston Texans have both trained at the facility in summers past.

Here is the statement from Huffman:

"The Greenbrier has been contacted by several NFL teams interested in using The Greenbrier Sports Performance Center, our state-of-the-art football training facility, as part of their contingency plans for Training Camp. No plans are confirmed at this point, but we are hopeful to have NFL teams at The Greenbrier again this summer."

The Greenbrier is owned by Governor Jim Justice (R-W.Va.).
