(WVVA) - Hard to believe, but it's already time to start thinking about the upcoming holidays and due to the pandemic fundraisers like "Toys for Tots" will look a bit different.
The Shade Tree Car Club is launching their "Trunks for Toys" this Saturday to get a head-start on collecting toys for kids in need.
The toys collected during this weekend's cruise will be donated to "Toys for Tots" for Raleigh and Greenbrier County.
The Shade Tree Car Club along with Yesterday's Rides Car Club of Princeton, The Brothers of the Wheel East Plateau Chapter, the Hinton City Fire Department, and Summers County Fire Department will also be apart of this fundraiser.
"There's a lot of families in our community that have been hit really hard due to COVID-19. Personally I feel that it's going to take us a little bit longer because there's so many families struggling, and there's so many families that want to give, but they are not able to. I want to stretch out our time in order to try to raise funds and get donations that way we can try to even out at the end of the year," Ms. Shade Tree, Stephanie French said.
The cruise is set for this Saturday, August 15th and will began at Shady Spring High School at 3 pm.
The cruise will travel from Shady Spring all the way to Hinton. However, if the weather is bad, the cruise will be held on the following Saturday.
