Raleigh County to distribute I-Pads to every student before start of school

BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA) West Virginia schools are set to return on September 8th. But as the Governor has re-iterated from the beginning, that timeline could very well change by September 1st.

To be ready, Raleigh County Schools are making sure every student in the county has an I-Pad before the start of school.

Volunteers started Thursday at Woodrow Wilson High School and Beckley Stratton Middle distributing the I-Pads and giving parents and students release forms.

Beckley Stratton Middle also used the opportunity to touch base with students and parents and hand out information on class schedules and Schoology.

"We're here also for the social and emotional piece. That's just as big as the school work. We're touching base with parents to make sure they're getting everything they need with Raleigh County," said Principal Yahon Smith.

To learn more about when your school will be distributing the I-pads, Tech. Dir. Rachel Pauley said to go to the Raleigh County Schools' website.

"Our plan is to have the I-Pads in all students hands before Sept. 8th. If we're doing remote, blended learning, we're making sure all the kids have a device in hand."
