NEW ORLEANS, La (WVVA) - A veteran is celebrating a very special birthday this month, and a museum is helping him celebrate his big day.

Lawrence Brooks is America's oldest living WWII veteran, and he's turning 111 years old.

Brooks lives in New Orleans, Louisiana. The National World War II Museum, located in New Orleans, has asked people everywhere to send Brooks birthday cards.

The deadline has passed for those cards to be mailed, but you can watch a special birthday video for Brooks this weekend.

The museum says they will be posting a special birthday message on their social media accounts on Saturday Sept. 12.

You can visit the museum's website here. You can visit the museum's Facebook page here.

From all of us at WVVA, we hope Mr. Brooks has a wonderful 111th birthday!
