BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) - The Wade Center has been selected by State Farm as one of 200 national finalists for a $25,000 Neighborhood Assist Grant.
The final 40 winners will be selected by online voting by their communities.
State Farm Neighborhood Assist funds projects involved in education, safety, and community development. Local agents Brandon Disney of Bluefield, WV, and April Lusk in Bland County, Virginia, are helping The Wade Center promote its project.
The Wade Center has proposed a production entitled, The Wade Neighborhood. Professional artists will draw out the stories of children in an after-school program.
