BLUEFIELD, Va. (WVVA)- In Tazewell County four schools are doing remote learning, until at least Friday, October 9th.
Those schools are Dudley Primary, Graham Intermediate, Graham Middle, and Graham High. Now, Bluefield College will also continue doing online learning, too.
The decision was made Sunday. According to college officials, this decision will reduce face to face interaction on campus and reduce the risk of spreading the Coronavirus.
"For us we have a number of employees that have children in the school system. So we're making sure we know how we can best make this time period better for everyone and reduce community spread. We always look to other sister institutions at other colleges and universities, not just here locally, but statewide, and national wide as well, to see what their best practices are. But we also look at our local school system because there is a tie to all of us," Vice President of Institutional Advancement, Josh Cline said.
Bluefield College will revisit their plans before in person and on campus classes are scheduled to resume on October 12th.
