McDowell County church offers free lunch to shed light in COVID times

Kimball, W. Va. (WVVA) - Miracle Mt. Carmel offered free lunch for its community today. In COVID style, those wanting a meal drove up to the church, stayed in their cars and the food was brought to them.

Miracle Mt. Carmel Pastor, Anthony Blair, said outreach has been difficult to do in the middle of a pandemic, but he wanted to find a way to help those who need it. And free lunch seemed like the perfect option.

"Today, we're just trying to exhibit a little bit of God's love. With everything going on due to COVID-19, there's a lot of darkness going on throughout the world, throughout the earth," Blair said. "We're just trying to do our part to shed a little light, so if we can do that by providing a free meal for someone, then that's what we're going to do."
