(WVVA) - Despite the uncertainty -- for more than a year -- the Appalachian League has held out hope for a return.
"We got the first notification that the contraction might be going through last October," Bluefield general manager Rocky Malamisura recalled.
"You know -- and then it just happened," Princeton general manager Danny Shingleton added. "It's just been snowballing ever since."
They may have skipped a few steps, but the bottom line remains the same -- the Appalachian League has secured baseball for their communities starting next summer.
