As the cold front continues to push off to the east, high pressure is back behind allowing drier conditions throughout the rest of today.
Clouds will continue to decrease during the day allowing mostly sunny skies by this evening. High temperatures will be slightly cooler today as we hold onto a northwesterly flow. Temperatures will only reach into the low to mid 60s for most.
Overnight lows will fall into the 40s with mostly clear skies. Even though it is chilly, it's a great night for our space lovers out there! Mars is at opposition tonight which means it is directly across from the sun at sunset. It rises at sunset and falls at sunrise. Mars will actually be the brightest it has been this year and remain bright throughout the rest of October.
Wednesday we warm back up into the upper 60s and 70s and remain this way into Thursday. Our second cold front of the week will disturb our warm and dry pattern starting as early as Thursday night. A few showers will reappear while high temperatures for Friday will drop around 20 degrees! Highs will hit in the 40s and 50s. Look out for cooler air even into the weekend. The full temperature forecast is on WVVA at Noon.
