HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WVVA) - On Monday, Marshall and the University of Massachusetts agreed to a gridiron matcup to be played later this season.
The Herd will host the Minutemen on Saturday, November 7 at 2:30 p.m.
"With so much uncertainty this season, we're just trying to give our fan base as many opportunities as possible to see the Thundering Herd," Marshall Director of Athletics Mike Hamrick said in a statement. "We're happy to welcome UMass to Huntington next month."
UMass (0-1) is an FBS Independent school that dropped its season opener to Georgia Southern on Saturday.
The two schools have met just once in program history, with Marshall defeating the Minutemen 49-20 back in September of 2001.
The 22nd-ranked Thundering Herd will next play Florida Atlantic this Saturday at 2:30 in their annual Homecoming game.
