Abnormal October summery pattern continues today, but comes to a close soon….

Most spots, especially the valleys are starting the morning off with some patchy fog, so it will be a good idea to give yourself extra time for your morning commute. Otherwise, a very mild start to your Thursday, with temperatures in the 50s and even a few spots starting close to 60 degrees this morning.

You may be able to leave the jacket at home today, unless you work in a cold building...

We will get another day of this abnormal October summery pattern, with temperatures climbing into the 70s this afternoon. This is all thanks to an upper-level ridge of high pressure, which is pumping warm southerly flow into our region.

We will remain dry and mild into Thursday night, with temperatures falling only into the 50s. We could see some fog form again tonight, mainly in the sheltered valleys.

We get a few more clouds for Friday and maybe even a stray shower into the afternoon, as a cold front will creep closer and closer to our region. However, Friday looks to be another warm day, with temperatures right around the 70 degree mark and dry for the most part.

A stray shower will remain possible into Friday night, with temperatures remaining mild and only falling into the 50s.

We had a really nice work week, with warm and dry weather, but it looks like that will change into the weekend. The cold front will cross the viewing area on Saturday, bringing rain showers with it. But will the weekend be a wash out? Details coming in the full 10-day forecast on WVVA Today from 5-7. Tune in.
